Triodian’s foundational technology, the Deterministic Governance Architecture, is the subject of a broad patent-pending filing, supported by a wider patent family. The architecture inserts a verifiable enforcement layer at the moment an AI recommendation becomes a real-world action.

Governance embedded at the system level

The filing covers the Deterministic Governance Architecture, a hardware-rooted approach that checks each consequential AI action against constraints declared in advance, physically refuses to actuate outside them, and emits tamper-evident proof of each decision.

This embeds governance at the system level rather than relying on application-layer controls that the layer being governed could bypass. It is the subject of a broad patent pending, supported by a wider patent family.

Recently filed applications are not published on public patent databases until the standard USPTO publication window; the filing receipt is available on request.

How the IP is held

Held where it can’t be bought and buried.

The foundational IP will be held by the Casuarina Foundation, an independent charity being established for this purpose (ACNC registration underway), chaired by Professor Toby Walsh (UNSW), deliberately placed beyond the reach of any single owner, including Triodian itself.

Its public purpose is to keep the governance technology from being quietly acquired and shelved by an AI model company. The builder and the guardian are held in different hands: Triodian builds and operates the appliance under licence; the Foundation will hold the IP.
